Silversmith Capital Partners Named in Inc.’s 2021 List of Founder-Friendly Investors
Read More HereSilversmith Capital Partners, a growth equity firm supporting the best entrepreneurs in technology and healthcare services, today announced that it has been named to the Inc. third annual Founder-Friendly Investors list, honoring the private equity and venture capital firms with the best track records of success backing entrepreneurs.
Silversmith was founded in 2015 with a mission to partner with the very best entrepreneurs in technology and healthcare companies as they build and grow their companies. Over the past six years, the firm has closed three growth equity funds totaling $2.0 billion capital under management and invested in 33 companies, the majority of which are led by founders who have bootstrapped their companies into profitable businesses. Silversmith investments include Absorb Software, ActiveCampaign, Appfire, DistroKid, Impact, Iodine Software, LifeStance Health, Panalgo, PDFTron, Unily and Webflow.
“A founder first, growth-oriented approach has always been a primary focus for the firm,” said Silversmith Managing Partner, Lori Whelan. “Thank you to the founders, entrepreneurs, and CEOs who nominated us for this recognition. We truly believe the ‘who’ you are doing something with is as important as the ‘what’ you are actually doing, and appreciate having the opportunity to partner with so many exceptional entrepreneurs as they scale their companies.”
“Supporting an entrepreneur’s vision and driving growth is more than just a financial investment. It’s about building a relationship and supporting the founders beyond that initial year. These private equity firms treat the founders like partners,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. media.
To compile the list, Inc. went straight to the source: entrepreneurs who have sold to private equity. Founders filled out a questionnaire about their experiences partnering with private equity firms and shared data on how their portfolio companies have grown during these partnerships.

Introduced in 2019, the Founder-Friendly Private Equity Firms list quickly established itself as one of Inc.’s most resourceful franchises. It has become a go-to guide for entrepreneurs who want to grow their companies while retaining an ownership stake.
